Congratulations to Dr Wasana Jayarathne on her ANZAHPE Associate Fellowship!
As a medical doctor and medical educator, Wasana Jayarathne is passionate about preparing graduates for future learning by building capability.
"Within my current role as a lecturer in research at the Rural Clinical School, Toowoomba, University of Queensland, I am keen to enhance my pedagogical approaches to facilitate a deeper understanding of concepts relevant to medical research and evidence-based practice in medical students. My current research focuses on medical training for rural retention. I look forward to being an active member of the organization, fulfilling my obligations to develop a stronger health professions education community for better health care in the region.
ANZAHPE is well known globally as an inclusive platform for scholarly conversations and networking in health professions education. In applying to become an associate fellow, I considered that it would be a great privilege and opportunity to learn from and contribute to evidence-informed academic practices grounded in regional and international contexts."
