SIG - FACULTY DEVELOPMENT FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS

Aim

The purpose of the Faculty Development Special Interest Group (SIG) is to foster a collaborative, scholarly community that advances faculty development (via professional learning and research) among health education professionals across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). The SIG aims to strengthen pedagogical knowledge and capability to enhance the student and staff learning experience, promote effective learning activities and increase engagement across health education contexts.

The SIG will work towards increasing membership to grow an emerging network, creating a structured and inclusive forum for ongoing engagement among educators working in diverse organisational, geographical, and professional contexts. The SIG will encourage members to develop their scholarly capacity in faculty development. This will be achieved through the sharing of resources, critical discussion of published literature, and collaborative exploration of how evidence and theory can be meaningfully applied to local faculty development practice. By creating regular opportunities for dialogue and shared reflection, the SIG will support members to strengthen their scholarly identities and practice.
