Advancing Continuing Professional Development/Continuing Education in Health Professions Education (CPD-HPE)
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a vital component of a high-quality healthcare system, supporting healthcare workers in sustaining and enhancing their professional capabilities throughout their careers. As clinical knowledge, technologies and models of care continue to advance, CPD provides an essential avenue for health professionals to remain current, strengthen their expertise, and adapt to emerging needs in patient care and safety.
The CPD-HPE Special Interest Group (SIG) brings together educators, researchers, clinicians, providers, developers and policymakers committed to strengthening CPD across the health professions. The group provides a collaborative space to explore innovations, support scholarship, share best practices, and address current challenges in CPD design, delivery, and evaluation. Through networking, scholarly exchange, and member-led initiatives, the CPD HPE aims to build research capacity, generate tangible outputs, and advance evidence-informed approaches to lifelong learning in the health professions.
Activities will include regular virtual discussions, including professional development sessions and a journal club, collaborative scholarly outputs, networking and partnership-building.
Members at all levels of CPD experience and interest are warmly invited to join.
