AMC - ANZAHPE Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice AwardThe AMC and ANZAHPE have a shared commitment to promoting high standards of education and training of the health professions to enable safe, high-quality care. This award recognises the growing importance of interprofessional collaborative practice across the health professions in delivering the best possible care for patients and the role of interprofessional education in preparing future healthcare practitioners. The Australian & New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE) and the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice Award honours an outstanding individual or team that demonstrates excellence or innovation in health professions education that advances interprofessional collaborative practice. The contribution of the individual or team must involve medical education in an Australian or New Zealand education setting. Criteria • Creativity and innovation in course design and delivery • Evidence-based and research informed • Evidence of stakeholder and/or community engagement in course design • Evaluation evidence • Relevance to medical education Who is eligible? ANZAHPE members who are: • Australian or New Zealand residents • Individual or team who are health profession educators, and One of the aims of the award is to recognise and support the efforts of early career educators. Team nominations must include at least one individual who has five or less years’ experience in teaching/educator roles in a health profession education setting or completed the degree that led to that role within the last five years. The role of that person in the team should be clearly described. The nomination form must include at least two nominators who each provide a 250 word supporting statement. Nominators may include health profession educator (eg colleague); institutional staff member (e.g. supervisor, Head of Department/School/Faculty); student. In addition to the nomination form, supporting documentation can be submitted. The supporting information should describe how the innovation or initiative advances interprofessional collaborative practice. It can include course or program outlines; evaluation data; lecture outlines; participant comments; handouts or syllabus; multimedia and/or publications. Prize The recipient(s) will receive a certificate and AU$1,500 in prize money. The award will be announced at the annual ANZAHPE conference. Recipients are expected to attend the conference and can apply to the AMC for up to AU$5,000 to support attendance. |
