Congratulations to our newest Fellow, Tehmina Gladman!
Tehmina Gladman is the Education Adviser for University of Otago Wellington Medical School and Co-Director of the Education Development and Staff Support Unit (EDSSU) for the Otago Medical School.
"I started in the field of Experimental Psychology and taught for many years, developing an interest in educational technology and staff development. Before becoming the education adviser, I had the role of eLearning Facilitator, working with staff to develop their use of elearning tools to enhance teaching and learning. I now assist staff with a range of educational matters including the planning, development, delivery, assessment and evaluation of courses, professional development, and research with an educational focus.
My research interests include academic motivation, student self-efficacy, and technology in education. I have led work on medical student academic motivation and the rating and use of mobile apps for learning clinical skills including musculoskeletal examination skills. I have also worked with a number of different teams on research in areas such as professional identity formation, curriculum design, use of technology in learning such as video creation and generative AI, and interprofessional education.
Applying for Fellowship was an opportunity for me to strengthen my commitment to ANZAHPE. It also gave me a way to be recognized for my teaching, research, and service contributions to health professional education scholarship. Finally, Fellowship allows me to give back to ANZAHPE through the different programmes Fellows support."
