Meet one of our newest members, Judy Sheahan.
Judy was an Advanced Care Paramedic and Emergency Care Practitioner working in critical care and Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) retrieval in South Africa for almost 10 years. Now with almost 12 years’ experience in HPE across South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East, she has been teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate Emergency Medical Care and Paramedicine. She currently teaches postgraduate Critical Care Paramedicine at Edith Cowan University in Perth, WA. Since moving to Australia nearly two years ago, she has been keen to expand her HPE network and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Joining ANZAHPE provides a valuable platform to connect with like-minded educators who are passionate about advancing healthcare education. Judy appreciates the opportunity to both learn from and contribute to a community dedicated to innovation and excellence in HPE. She first heard about ANZAHPE through colleagues and was drawn to its strong sense of community and commitment to educational scholarship. Currently undertaking a PhD focused on the transition from clinician to academic and the transformation of professional identity, she looks forward to engaging with fellow members, exchanging ideas, and growing both professionally and personally within this diverse HPE community.
