Congratulations to Joanna Tai on her Fellowship with ANZAHPE!

Joanna Tai is Associate Professor at the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE) at Deakin University. Her research in assessment focuses on inclusion and diversity, feedback literacies, developing evaluative judgement, and student experiences across the university and workplace.

Joanna initially qualified as a medical doctor, but her interest in supporting others to learn quickly overtook her desire to offer clinical care, and thus after her internship year, she commenced a PhD under the supervision of Prof Elizabeth Molloy, Prof Ben Canny, and Prof Terry Haines. She is now a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and also a member of the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia, and the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction.

"I’ve had a long association with ANZAHPE, which started when my then-honours supervisor Liz Molloy suggested I apply for the undergraduate student prize. After my first ANZAHPE conference, I was hooked – everyone was and is so friendly and welcoming, valuing diverse opinions and supporting each other to become better health professional educators. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to benefit from the shared wisdom and support of the ANZAHPE community, and been able to get involved in a variety of ways, including serving on the Committee of Management, and as part of mentorship and professional development subcommittees. I decided to apply for Fellowship to formalise this, and to continue to contribute to our vibrant community."
