Meet of our newest members, Leah Pascoe.
I work with the Rural Doctors Network as the Senior Project Coordinator in the Care Partnership – Diabetes program. In this role, I focus on strengthening the health workforce across Western and Far West NSW by creating sustainable pathways for health professionals to gain skills in diabetes education and management. This includes coordinating scholarship programs, mentoring, and innovative service-enhancement models that support both clinicians and the community.
Alongside this role, I am currently studying to become a Counsellor, which will further development my background in Community services and to help deepen my understanding of person-centered care, communication and the broader challenges faced by people living with chronic illness.
This builds on my background in case management and is also informed by over 20 years of lived experience with Type 1 diabetes.
I first heard about ANZAHPE through key stakeholders also working in health workforce development. I joined to access professional development opportunities and grants that can expand workforce capability in rural and remote regions. Membership also gives me the chance to connect with other professionals with the same outcomes in mind.
