A brief biography
Megan Anakin is a board member, an Associate Fellow, and currently the Vice-President of ANZAHPE, and Conference Lead for Adelaide 2024. Megan Anakin is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Education at the University of Sydney School of Pharmacy, NSW, Australia. Her research interest focuses on examining the experiences, influences, and impacts on students and teachers when learning/teaching decision-making about providing patient care in a range of contexts including simulation and interprofessional education; and how this knowledge can be used to inform curriculum and faculty development in health professions education. She is particularly interested in exploring how Cultural Historical and Activity Theory can be used inform health professions education research. Megan is also the Secretary of AMEE’s Faculty Development Committee, Co-Chair of the planning committee for the 8th International Conference for Faculty Development in the Health Professions (ICFDHP), and an Associate Fellow of AMEE. She is on the Advisory Board and Task Force working party for MedEdPublish and has recently joined the editorial board of Mind, Culture and Activity. http://orcid.org/0000-0002-6499-7802.
In her past life, she was a teacher. She has taught in primary, secondary, and tertiary classrooms in Canada, the UK, and New Zealand.
